ST. THOMAS — Join Mango Tango Art Gallery on Raphune Hill for the opening of the Mandy Thody and Courtney Devonish Exhibition tonight from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On view and for sale will be the sculptures of South African-born Mandy Thody and Barbados-born Courtney Devonish, both of whom work in the Caribbean.

Thody has created art in the Virgin Islands for Mango Tango for 20 years. She works in watercolor and ceramics. For the current show she presents sculpted ceramic works of islanders and sea nymphs that are for both tabletop and wall display.

Devonish has owned and operated Devonish Art Gallery in Anguilla for the last 30 years. After his studies in ceramics and wood sculpting in England and Italy, he was both a teacher and working artist in Europe, Canada and Barbados before opening his gallery. For the current show, Devonish has carved mahogany forms that revere the female body, birds, and elements of nature.

Also on display will be Art from the Vault, valuable art that has not been on display due to the reduced size of the gallery, including works by Kendall Shoffner, Katie O’Neil, Mace McDowell, Sasha Tebo and Max Johnson.

A wine reception will feature music by After Irma. The show continues for 6 weeks. For more information call 340-777-3060.
