Hiker rescued
First responders with St. Croix Rescue, V.I. Fire Service and the V.I. Health Department’s Emergency Medical Services responded Thursday afternoon to an injured person on the “Trumble Trail” leading to the Annaly Bay tide pool on the island’s north shore. The trail’s rocky terrain, in addition to dense foliage and steep downhill and uphill climbs, is as much an adventurer’s delight as it is a logistical nightmare. Jason J. Henry, special operations commander with St. Croix Rescue, urged residents and visitors alike to hike with caution, noting that the agency gets at least one call per month to rescue someone on the trail after a slip and fall.
