How to avoid security post expenses
for all future V.I. governors' homes

Now that everyone has staked out their position as to whether the governor of the Virgin Islands was right or wrong about the way in which security was provided, I'd like to offer a solution to the Legislature for any future elected governor.
If the governors' official residence (Catherineberg) is not to be renovated or rebuilt, a secure post must be given to all future governors. I suggest that a "movable" trailer, with all the "bells" and "whistles" that the governors' security team needs, be purchased.
A trailer of this sort is used by many law enforcement agencies for quick set-up and can be moved to any location and set up immediately, after the governor is sworn in. It has communication and lifestyle amenities needed for personnel doing that sort of work.
Of course, the present law needs to reworded to allow for this, but I don't see that as a problem. It would save money and handle what seems to be a problem.
I'm not sure why something like this has not been done in the past, but we need to look forward.
Yes, the governor spent too much money.
Yes, the present official location for the governor and his family to live in is unlivable.
Yes, there are too many ways for money to be spent within the limits of the law.
Yes, you're all a bunch of children dipping into a cookie jar that's almost empty.
Please, take my advice. It's a good one and let's not spend any more of the taxpayers money unwisely.
