Gov. John deJongh Jr. has granted administrative leave to government workers to celebrate D. Hamilton Jackson Day on Monday.
The holiday itself falls on a Sunday this year, so deJongh signed a proclamation making Monday D. Hamilton Jackson Day in the Virgin Islands.
The administrative leave to government employees will allow them to participate in Jackson's commemoration events that are organized by the Grove Place Action Committee and scheduled for Monday on St. Croix.
