Fishermen and their friends and families partied into the night at the Fishermen's Fun Day, which helps raise money for the St. Thomas Fishermen's Association. |
ST. THOMAS - People came together for a community party in Frenchtown on Sunday despite heavy showers that swept over the area.
Many people played dominoes, some listened to live music, and there was a spirited game of softball that pitted North Side against Frenchtown.
"We have some fun and raise some money for the Fishermen's Association," said Julian Magras, chairman of the organization.
The St. Ann's youth group also raised money at the event, selling baked goods and other items.
The group teaches French to children and has a choir.
"We recently took a group of children to St. Barts to meet with their ancestors," said Christine Greaux, who works with the youth group.
