Man, 49, accused of
sexual assault on minors
Sexual assault charges were filed against a 49-year-old man in connection with the January assault of two minors.
Virgin Islands Police Department spokeswoman Melody Rames said in a release that David Aubain was arrested on Friday about 9:25 a.m. on a warrant issued by V.I. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Alan Smith, charging him with two counts of unlawful sexual contact.
Rames did not disclose the ages or gender of the children and she did not provide any further details about the incident.
Aubain was held on a $100,000 bail, which he was unable to post. He was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action, according to Rames.
Woman charged
with child neglect
Elisa Ayala, 22, of Walter I.M. Hodge housing community was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with two counts of child neglect.
Police said the case was turned over to Human Services. No additional information was available.
Bail was set at $10,000.
Man charged with robbery at Educational Complex
Dion Barnes, 18, of Campo Rico, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Friday and charged with first-degree robbery.
Police said he was arrested in connection with an incident that took place Oct. 20, 2009, at St. Croix Educational Complex.
Bail was set at $75,000.
No additional information was available.
