Deadline extended for forms

Parents of students attending St. Croix Educational Complex, Arthur Richards Junior High and Alfredo Andrews Elementary schools have until Wednesday to submit consent forms for their children to receive the H1N1 vaccine.

According to a statement from the Education Department, distribution of the forms to those schools was delayed and additional time is being given to families to review, complete and submit the forms.

The forms should be returned, whether or not the parent consents to the vaccine.

The Health Department needs the information to determine how many students will receive the vaccine. The schedule for vaccine administration has not yet been set, and notifications will be forthcoming. The dates are contingent on how many students will be taking the vaccine.

Veterans affairs meeting

The Office of Veterans Affairs will host a general meeting for all Vietnam veterans and members of the Retired Virgin Islands National Guard Organization at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the American Legion Hall in Sub Base. Group reorganization and Veterans Week Activities will be the topics of discussion.

For information, contact the Veterans Affairs Office at 774-6100.
