Complex, GH dominate cross country championships

ST. CROIX - Educational Complex and Good Hope School racked up the awards in Wednesday's St. Croix Cross Country championships.
Complex's Seymour Walter won the varsity 3.1-mile run by a minute and a half with a time of 17:03. Good Hope's Julia Kimble won the varsity girls with a time of 29:29.
Complex's David Walter finished second in the boys varsity with a time of 18:36 and Theo Mongeau took third with a 19:25.
Complex and Good Hope also nearly swept the junior varsity division. The exception was Malique Smith, of Good Shepherd School-St.Croix Track Club, winning the boys two-mile run with a time of 12:21.
Good Hope's Jeramy Kariah came in right behind Smith at 12:49 and classmate Jarad Lake rounded out the top three with a time of 13:12.
On the girls side, Stephanie Rhoden, of Educational Complex-Junior Barracudas, won with a time of 14:30. Good Hope's Jazmine Willock finished second and Complex's Cherie Thomas finished third with a time of 17:16.
In the one-mile elementary race, Good Hope's Adrial Sanes won on the boys side with a time of 6:10. Claude O. Markoe School's Jalani Hendrickson took second with a 6:19 and Rodney Griffin of Eulalie Rivera School finished third with a 6:21.
Makaela Smith, of Good Shepherd School-St. Croix Track Club, won the girls one mile with a time of 6:50. Claude O. Markoe School's Janubia Sweeney finished second with a 6:55 and Eulalie Rivera School's Annika Benders ran a 7:01 for third.
In the Open Female 3.1-mile race, Earthla Augutin of the V.I. Pace Runners won with a time of 29:51
