VITA Jr. Tennis Tourney
ST. JOHN - The St. John Racquet Club will have a V.I. Tennis Association Junior Tennis Tournament, sponsored by HOVENSA and in honor of Sis Frank, from Friday to Sunday at the Cruz Bay tennis courts. Plaskett East Little League registration
ST. CROIX - There will be registration for the Elmo Plaskett East Little League (children ages 5-15) on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at D.C. Canegata Ballpark. Parents must bring a copy of the child's birth certificate along with proof of residency (phone, cable or electric bill). Registration fee is $20 for parents with one child and $15 each for those with two or more children.

Triathlon champs to be named at CCT; venue changed to Cramer Park
ST. CROIX - For the first time, the V.I. Triathlon Federation will name national triathlon champions at the Caribbean Classic Triathlon. The Olympic distance race - a 1,500-meter swim, 25-mile bike and 6.2-mile run - will be held on Sunday at Buccaneer Hotel. The top male and female finishers, who must also be members of VITF, will be crowned as individual champions. The race also will count as a points race for the overall V.I. Triathlon Point Series, the winners of which get free entry into the 2010 St. Croix Ironman 70.3.Â
The Caribbean Classic Triathlon will also feature a shorter sprint distance race.Â

Positive Vibes beat Laraza
ST. THOMAS - Positive Vibes remained atop the USVI Soccer Association St. Thomas Region's League on Tuesday night with a 6-0 victory over Laraza at Lionel Roberts Stadium. The Positive Vibes' Amon Bascombe scored four goals in the win, while Keithroy Saddler added two more.
The league's second-place team, the UWS Upsetters, held the defending champion New Vibes to a 0-0 draw in the other game played Tuesday.
Scholastic chess tournament
ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Learning Institute will sponsor a Scholastic Chess Tournament for students of all ages on Saturday at Lockhart Elementary School. The first of four rounds will begin at 8:45 a.m., and registration will start at 8 a.m. All students at either public and private schools in the territory are invited.

Ladies golf lessons
ST. THOMAS - The Mahogany Run golf course is offering one-hour beginner's and intermediate golf lessons for women on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning Nov. 17. Beginner's lessons will take place on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Intermediate lessons will be on Saturdays at 9 a.m. or 5 p.m. Cost is $125.
