Prince Crystal prevails in St. Croix feature race

ST. CROIX - It was a happy Thanksgiving Sunday for horse racing fans on St. Croix who were treated to a full race card at Randall "Doc" James Racetrack.
The feature race on the nine-race card was filled with native talent running for a $9,400 purse.
Prince Crystal, ridden by jockey Jesus Guadalupe, ran the 1 1/16 mile V.I. Lottery Native Classic in 1 minute and 51.2 seconds for the win. Emerald Star came in second, followed by Creation Rebel.
The other highly anticipated showdown was Race 8, the Turkeyball Dash. Jockey Junior Inirio rode Lost River to a 7-furlong win in 1:26.4 to take home the $7,000 purse. Questionable Sky finished second, followed by Green Sand.
Racing opened Sunday with a sprint. Outta-Hand and jockey Alphonso Claudio took the 4.5-furlong race in 58.8 seconds, followed by Emerald's Princess and Juanito.

The second race was a 5-furlong dash that Tru Gold and jockey Elmo Barnes won in 1:02.2. The winning purse was $4,300. Dinero came in second and Gold Sizzler finished third.
YIMC Sword and jockey Kevin Krigger ran six furlongs in 1:14.8 to win Race 3, collecting $4,400. Destiny's Arrival came in second and Honey Mustard Time finished third.
Dixie Find and jockey Miguel Sanchez took the fourth race - ran over 7.5 furlongs - in 1:33.2. The purse was $4,700. Hearts on Fire finished second and Mi Jesus placed third.
The rest of the card:
- The fifth race of the day - which covered one mile - went to Little Boy Brew and jockey Junior Inirio. They went the distance in 1:41.2 to win $5,500. Blackjack Bob came in second and Meeses Two Pieces finished third.
- Race 6 was won by Big Kate and jockey Christian Soto Jr. They covered 7.5 furlongs in 1:34.2 to win the $5,500 purse. Leggy Blonde finished second, followed by Summertime Babe.
- The ninth race of the day went to El Rollo and jockey Junior Inirio, who covered one mile in 1:41 to take a $4,600 purse. Russian Way finished second and Big Thunder Reflc came in third.
