Antilles School usually staggers its first days over the course of a week, but Head of School Liz Morrison decided to set the tone this year with an all-school event that allowed families to start the year together.

Morrison hopes to make this tradition commonplace with other events throughout the year, including a brand new Convocation Ceremony for students and faculty held Wednesday in the Mark C. Marin Center.

“When we work as a community, we are best able to teach the lessons of respect, cooperation, tolerance, and service that we know are necessary for our students to be prepared for the world that awaits them after Antilles,” Morrison said. “Creating those opportunities for unity will be a priority in the months ahead, and I am excited to be able to strengthen our bond, and our school voice, by continuing to bring together our faculty, staff, students and parents. It’s going to be a great year.”

On the first day of school Aug. 28, students, staff and parents enjoyed a photo booth with props to commemorate the day.
