The dining area of One North Street in Christiansted, St. Croix, easily accommodates an early island-crafted mahogany table large enough to seat a dozen people with all the leaves in place. The 12 early 20th century chairs are also island-made. The mid-19th century mahogany sideboard is Jamaican.

Fine and decorative arts publication, “The Magazine Antiques,” features an article in its May/June issue about Christiansted, St. Croix’s 1760 Danish West Indian townhouse, En Nordgade (One North Street) and its exemplary collection of island-crafted antique mahogany furniture.

One North Street’s owner, Cynthia Tyler, said, “I felt honored to have my home and furniture collection in the magazine because it’s such a prestigious international publication.” Tyler also mentioned how pleased she was that the magazine’s cover was devoted to the One North Street article.
