Ivanna Eudora Kean High School science teacher Michaelrose Ravalier, center, works on a team Eggstronaut Parachute Challenge at NASA’s Commercial Crew Program and Virtual Reality Training professional development workshop in Omaha, Neb. Ravalier received a NASA grant in conjunction with the support of the Physics Department at the University of the Virgin Islands to attend, one of only two K-12 teachers invited from the territory, and the only one to attend. Training by education specialists from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center included training for VR tours, Google Expeditions, CCP App, virtual events, and K-12 STEM activities including the Crew Orbital Docking Simulation, online educator and student badging, Sound on a String investigation and how to stay connected with Commercial Crew.
