Areannah Agathe named
to Loyola dean’s list
Areannah Agathe, of St. Croix, a member of the class of 2019, has been named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Loyola University Maryland.
In order to qualify for the dean’s list at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.
2 from St. Thomas earn B.A. degrees at Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, held its 173rd commencement on May 13.
The OWU Class of 2017 included 383 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with students representing 20 countries from Afghanistan to Venezuela. Locally, Ohio Wesleyan’s Class of 2017 included Kelsey Morrison and Bianca Sibilly, both of St. Thomas, who both earned Bachelor of Arts degrees.
As the graduates celebrated their commencement, they also were encouraged to use their liberal arts educations to become global problem-solvers.
Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School announces mandatory orientation sessions for the 2017-18 school year that will be held in the school’s cafeteria. The orientation schedule is as follows: Aug. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. for grades 1 and 2 and noon to 2 p.m. for grades 3 and 4; and Aug. 25 from 9 to 11 a.m. for grades 5 and 6 and noon to 2 p.m. for all kindergartners and new incoming students.
