St. Croix Educational Complex High School students won the Best Ensemble award at the 14th Annual Vento Shakespeare Festival presented by Pistarckle Theater on St. Thomas.

Top honors were awarded to the students of the St. Croix Educational High School for Best Ensemble for the 14th Annual Vento Shakespeare Festival at the Nisky Moravian Church on St. Thomas.

Under the guidance of their teacher Alicia Ramos, the cast included students Avision Lang, Enperatriz Delgadillo, Korie Hodge, Micaya Labadie, Nadesha Julian, Shomauri Gumbs, Jamila George, and Aniis Lester.

Each year, students and faculty from St. Thomas and St. Croix gather at the Nisky Center Moravian Church to recreate scenes from some of William Shakespeare’s most memorable plays. Pamela New once again served as the Pistarckle Theater Shakespeare Scholar and logistics coordinator, with additional support from event emcee Jada Lark, and judges Estelle Andrew, Frank Bartolucci and Gail DeHaas.

This year’s participating schools included: All Saints Cathedral School, Antilles School, Charlotte Amalie High School, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, Lockhart Elementary, Nicky Moravian School, Tutu Church of God School, St. Croix Educational Complex High School, and Seventh-day Adventist High School.
