V.I. Attorney General Denise George was reportedly blindsided by the Legislature last month after it rejected a funding request to revive a White Collar Crime Section within the Justice Department.

George, who’s stated publicly her disapproval of the decision, said lawmakers never shared their concerns with her beforehand, nor their rationale for rejecting the $1.7 million request, which was included in Gov. Albert Bryan Jr.’s fiscal year 2020 supplemental budget.
