The attorney representing former Casino Control Commission contractor Stephanie Barnes has asked a judge to move her upcoming trial to St. Croix, arguing that “it would be an abuse of discretion to hold the trial on St. Thomas that ultimately would result in the reversal of any conviction.”

Attorney Pamela Colon filed the motion Thursday in U.S. District Court, requesting a transfer of proceedings from St. Thomas to the federal court’s St. Croix division for Barnes’ trial, scheduled to begin on March 30.
