The territory’s first facility for behavioral and mental health may soon be established as Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. submitted legislation last week to address mental health services.

According to a news release from Government House spokesperson Richard Motta, the legislation was submitted to the 33rd Legislature with the aim of “overhauling and reforming the territory’s mental health system with sweeping changes that address gaps in services to residents who suffer from behavioral health challenges, mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, alcoholism and drug addiction.”
