TORTOLA—The British Virgin Islands Government has announced a series of measures to stop the novel coronavirus from entering the territory, including closing its borders to individuals who aren’t nationals, Belongers or work-permit holders entering the territory, closing all public and private schools through the Easter holidays and restricting the number of people at social gatherings.

The BVI doesn’t have a confirmed case of the virus, but Premier Andrew Fahie said the territory has begun testing and 15 tests have been negative and 22 people have been quarantined.
