Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. urged Virgin Islanders to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend and to practice social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, while remembering those who fought and died serving in the armed forces.

“It is Memorial Day weekend, where we commemorate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” Bryan said. “I know many of you will be taking the holiday to the beaches, but please remember these are not normal times,” he said. “The virus is deadly, it has already claimed six lives in our community. Please be safe, and encourage your friends and family to be safe. Adhere to social distancing rules and guidelines.”
