ST. THOMAS — A joint local, federal operation at a hurricane-damaged housing community has resulted in the arrest of a man on weapons charges.
According to V.I. Police, the department’s Special Operations Bureau, Homeland Security Investigations, and the U.S. Marshals Service conducted a joint operation at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the now-abandoned Tutu Hi-Rise housing community. The operation resulted in the arrest of Nesta Thomas, 37, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a school, possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a housing community and possession of ammunition.
