A 20-year-old man was murdered at a home Tuesday on St. Croix, police said.

Lincoln Baltimore Jr. was shot and killed at a home in Concordia Bay, Frederiksted, according to V.I. Police Department spokesman Glen Dratte.

The shooting occurred at around 10:38 a.m., according to police.

Dratte said Benjamin was shot multiple times and responding officers found his body on the floor inside the home when they arrived at the scene.

In May 2017, Benjamin and two other men were charged with carjacking and raping a teenage girl on St. Croix, according to police. The disposition of that case could not be determined Tuesday evening.

The three men were accused of ramming a stolen truck into a vehicle driven by two teenage girls on the East End, causing them to stop. Police said one of the girls managed to get away, but the men carjacked the other one and raped her before releasing her.

Benjamin’s murder is the 17th homicide in the territory so far this year, including nine on St. Thomas and eight on St. Croix.
