A portion of Charlotte Amalie High School’s Building B was cordoned off last school year. Similar fencing and signage will enclose the remainder of Building B and Building A, as both buildings will not be in use for the 2019-20 school year

ST. THOMAS — A deteriorating Charlotte Amalie High School has sparked an abrupt relocation plan for hundreds of students, teachers and staff, just two weeks prior to school starting.

V.I. Education officials, during a press conference Tuesday at the St. Thomas high school, said a recent structural assessment found that CAHS Building A, which houses 13 classrooms, main office, career center and cafeteria, is no longer safe to use.
