Prosecutors have asked a judge not to release Elvin Wrensford pending his retrial for the 2012 murder of Gilbert Hendricks Jr., and say he poses a threat to a surviving witness in the case, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court.

Wrensford, 34, and co-defendant Craig Muller, were found guilty by a federal jury on St. Croix after a two-week trial in 2015, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
