A St. John family that claims ownership of a parcel of land on Bordeaux Mountain, St. John, seen at the center of the map above, is facing renewed federal action seeking their removal from the property. The National Park Service contends they are inhabiting park land, while they claim they have ancestral rights to the parcel.

The federal government is making a second attempt to remove several individuals from a disputed piece of property on St. John, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Cole filed the action Thursday against a dozen people and “unnamed defendants” who the government says are illegally occupying a 500-acre parcel in Estate Bordeaux, Coral Bay.
