Rotary Club of St. John, Bajo el Sol support Bahamas relief

Supporting Bahamas relief

A check for $3,100 is gifted to Rotary District 7020 Governor Delma Maduro on behalf of the Rotary Club of St. John. The local Rotary partnered with Bajo El Sol Gallery, which donated two paintings, one by Livy Htichock and another by Aimee Trayser, along with a $250 gift certificate to the gallery, to raise money for Hurricane Dorian relief in the Bahamas. The prizes were raffled off, with ticket sale proceeds going to District 7020, which covers 10 countries including the Bahamas. “The Rotary’s intention is to help others,” said Rotary Club of St. John President Harry Daniel of the motivation behind the donation.

The funds will be given to the Rotary Club of the Bahamas, which will determine the appropriate way to use the money for hurricane relief.

“The Rotary Club of St. John is showing, in a very tangible and meaningful way, their support for the people of the Bahamas who have been devastated by Dorian,” said Maduro. “The Rotary Clubs of the Bahamas really appreciate the love and support of their fellow Rotarians.”
