ST. THOMAS — The Senate Rules and Judiciary Committee on Friday voted to restructure the Cannabis Advisory Board over concerns that Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. was “politicizing” the body with government employees.

The vote came as a response to Bryan’s recent proposal to amend the medical marijuana law by turning the nine-member Cannabis Advisory Board into an 11-member board, with representatives from the departments of Tourism, Justice, Health, Agriculture and Licensing and Consumer Affairs.
