ST. THOMAS — At least three people were involved in the Sept. 11 attempt to rob the Scotiabank in Altona of nearly $1 million in cash that left a security guard injured, according to federal court documents detailing the arrest of one of the suspects.

Melik Petersen, 28, of Anna’s Retreat, who federal prosecutors say was one of two shooters in the crime, was arrested Friday and charged with bank robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and interference with commerce through threats or violence, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court.
