More than a dozen Filipino teachers on St. Croix are facing deportation after the V.I. Education Department reportedly failed to file their non-immigrant visa extensions in time.

Such is the claim of the St. Croix American Federation of Teachers, who told The Daily News on Thursday that 15 teachers, many of whom teach science, math or special education, will no longer be employees of the Education Department by Aug. 29, and are expected to leave the territory by Sept. 15.
