WATER ISLAND — It might not have lasted longer than 15 minutes, but the 14th annual Water Island Fourth of July parade provided golf cartloads of fun for the island’s residents and visitors Thursday.

The parade, which benefits Water Island Search and Rescue, started at the Phillips Landing ferry dock and ended at Honeymoon Beach, where Heidi’s Honeymoon Grill waited with food, drinks, live music and promised relaxation. The organizers also sold ice cream, baked goods, raffle tickets and T-shirts at the beach to benefit the Search and Rescue team.
