The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands has released the 2019 Kids Count Data Book, which shows some encouraging trends in terms of declining unemployment and an increase in the number of Virgin Islands children with health insurance.

Children represented 20% of the overall population in 2015, the most recent available data, and the number of children in the territory has dropped significantly since 2000, decreasing by more than 42%, or 14,500 children.
