ST. CROIX — A Government House spokesman said Monday that while Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. had served as chairman of the V.I. Economic Development Authority, his wife Yolanda Bryan’s new $75,000-a-year position as EDA “business ambassador” was not the result of nepotism.

“EDA is not a government entity so I don’t know why it would be nepotism,” Government House spokesman Richard Motta Jr. said during a press briefing held Monday at Government House on St. Croix.
