The family of the late Luis Antonio “Tito” Morales announces his passing on Sept. 8, 2017, on the island of St. Thomas.
Tito, as he was affectionately called, was a devoted labor union leader and political activist. Tito was born on Aug. 5, 1946, to Iris Mildred Fabio and Natalio Morales on the island of St. Thomas.
A selfless civil servant, Tito dedicated his life’s work to addressing the injustices in the work place for anyone who needed assistance. His passion for fairness led him to serve as the president of the United Steelworkers Local Union 8249 for more than 30 years and the president of the Central Labor Council.
Tito’s other love was politics, a love that led him to hold many positions in the V.I. Democratic Party, including the state chair and national committeeman. Tito was headstrong and once he believed in something he would fight for it to the very end.
