Relatives and friends are advised of the passing of Violet L. Gumbs, who died June 20, 2019, at the age of 77 in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Hodge; and brothers, Ambrose and Adrien Gumbs.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Celestial Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The second viewing will be Friday, July 12, 2019, at Trinity Methodist Church (Bovoni) from 10 to 11 a.m. with service immediately following at 11 a.m. Interment is at Eastern Cemetery.
