It is on that premise that I begin this essay. It was on Dec. 19, 1980, some 37 years ago that the Anguilla Act of 1980 set in motion the wheels that would officially end any association with the Tri-State of St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla. What came to be known as Separation Day officially put Anguilla on course to determine its own destiny.
