Antilles School 2, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School 2: The Devil Rays fought back against an undermanned Hurricanes squad in the second half to forge a tie in Thursday’s St. Thomas-St. John Interscholastic Athletic Association league match at the Antilles School field.
Despite only having 10 players in the first half, Antilles School pulled out to a 2-0 halftime lead on goals by Alessandro Gever and Sharan Chawla.
However, after the Hurricanes lost another player at the half, Ivanna Eudora Kean High rallied in the second half, with goals by Carl Previus and Kamal Tyson tying the match.
What’s next: Charlotte Amalie High School will take on Tortola’s Elmore Stoutt High School at 4:45 p.m. today at the Antilles School field.
Antilles School 5, Ulla Muller Elementary School 1: The Hurricanes wrapped up the St. Thomas-St. John IAA league tournament championship by routing Muller Elementary on Thursday.
Eli Blondeau scored two goals, and Alejo Di Blasi, Bryce Richardson and J.R. Oriol had one goal each for Antilles School.
No information was available on the goal scorer for Muller Elementary.
Wednesday’s Results Junior Varsity Soccer
Antilles School 3, Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School 0: The Hurricanes shut out the Blazers on Wednesday at the Antilles School field to clinch the St. Thomas-St. John IAA league championship.
Jackson Watkins and Everad Penn each had a goal for Antilles School, which also scored off an “own goal” by Boschulte Middle.
The Hurricanes finished the season at 7-2-0 (21 points).
All Saints Cathedral School at 5-3-1 (16 points) edged Virgin Islands Montessori School at 5-4-0 (15 points) for second place, with Boschulte Middle last at 0-7-1 (one point).
