St. Croix IAA JV soccer league semifinals today

The semifinals of the St. Croix Interscholastic Athletic Association’s junior varsity soccer tournament will be played today at the Good Hope Country Day School field.

In the opening game, set for 3:45 p.m., top-seeded Good Hope Country Day School will face No. 4 seed Elena Christian Junior High School; while No. 2 seed Arthur Richards Junior High School takes on No. 3 seed John Woodson Junior High School at 4:45 p.m.

The winners advance to the league’s championship game, set for 4 p.m. Thursday at the Good Hope Country Day School field.

Junior Varsity Soccer

Virgin Islands Montessori School 4, Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School 0: Tianna Davis scored twice as the Volts shut out the Blazers in Monday’s St. Thomas-St. John Interscholastic Athletic Association league match at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School field.

Thomas Brunt and Gabriel Christian added one goal each for Virgin Islands Montessori (4-2-0, 12 points), and Joaquin Hawkes got his second straight shutout in goal. Boschulte Middle is now 0-4-1 (one point).

All Saints Cathedral School 3, Antilles School 2: Ka’eo Brown put in two goals as the Vikings edged the Hurricanes in Monday’s St. Thomas-St. John IAA league match at the Antilles School field.

Maleki Mills also scored for All Saints Cathedral (3-3-1, 10 points). Everad Penn and Mike Caraiclo both had goals for Antilles School (4-2-0, 12 points), which fell into a tie with Virgin Islands Montessori atop the league standings.

What’s next: Two league matches are on the schedule Wednesday, with both beginning at 4 p.m. Antilles School will host Bertha C. Boschulte Middle, while All Saints Cathedral plays Virgin Islands Montessori at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School field.

Elementary Volleyball

Antilles School Hurrris 2, Yvonne Bowsky Elementary School 1: The Hurris needed to go to a third set to beat Bowsky Elementary in Monday’s St. Thomas-St. John IAA league opener, winning 15-13, 4-15, 18-16.

Yvonne Bowsky Elementary School 2, Virgin Islands Montessori School Volts 0: Bowsky Elementary won in straight sets over Virgin Islands Montessori’s “B” team, by scores of 15-13 and 15-4.

Virgin Islands Montessori 2, Antilles School Canes 0: The Volts won in straight sets over the Canes, winning by scores if 15-13 and 15-11.

Calvary Christian Baptist School 2, Lockhart Elementary School 0: Calvary Christian won in straight sets, beating Lockhart Elementary by scores of 15-9 and 15-6.

What’s next: Seven league matches will be played today at Antilles School’s Mark C. Marin Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.

On Court 1, the Antilles School Hurris play Antilles School Canes, followed by Bowsky Elementary taking on Calvary Christian, Virgin Islands Montessori facing Bowsky Elementary, and Calvary Christian going against Virgin Islands Montessori.

On Court 2, Lockhart Elementary faces the Virgin islands Montessori Volts, followed by All Saints Cathedral School taking on the Virgin Islands Montessori Volts and All Saints Cathedral playing Lockhart Elementary.

Saturday’s Results Varsity Soccer

Antilles School 3, Elmore Stoutt High School 1: Three players — Viren Punjabi, Sharan Chawla and Etan Smith — scored one goal each as the Hurricanes routed Tortola’s Sonics in Saturday’s St. Thomas-St. John IAA league match.

Phillip Jules scored the only goal for Elmore Stoutt High.

What’s next: Antilles School will host Virgin Islands Montessori School at 4:45 p.m. today.

Virgin Islands Montessori School 3, All Saints Cathedral School 0: Gabriel Christian scored two goals as the Volts shut out the Vikings in Saturday’s St. Thomas-St. John IAA league match.

Tianna Davis added a goal for Virgin Islands Montessori, with Joaquin Hawkes getting the shutout in goal for the Volts.
