ST. CROIX — Everything was going according to plan for the U.S. Virgin Islands’ senior men’s national soccer team in the first half of Thursday’s match against the Cayman Islands. Then it began to rain, and for whatever reasons, the USVI National Team cooled off while the Cayman Islands National Team heated up.

That led to the Caymans pulling off a 2-0 victory over the U.S. Virgin Islands in the teams’ opening CONCACAF Nations League group-play match at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex.
