Police are investigating after a man was kidnapped Wednesday afternoon on St. Croix.

The incident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. when the 911 Emergency Call Center “received calls reporting an abduction of an adult male from downtown Frederiksted,” according to a news release from V.I. Police spokesman Toby Derima.

Derima said the man “was taken against his will and transported to multiple locations where his ATM card was used to withdraw money from his account. He was later released with minor injuries.”

The case is under investigation. Anyone with information that can help police find those responsible are urged to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
